Meet our doctors:
Dr. Austin Andersen attended the Creighton University and graduated with honors. He furthered his studies at Creighton University School of Medicine with a Doctor in Medicine. He completed a fellowship at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City and an internship in Sioux Falls, SD. He is now the owner of Professional Eyecare. He enjoys playing golf, Husker football, and spending time with his wife, Mallory, his son, Jaxton, and his daughter, Olympia.
Dr. Liron Bittan attended the University of Kansas and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology. She furthered her studies at the Illinois College of Optometry where she graduated Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Optometry. Dr. Bittan has a passion for pediatric optometry and received specialized training in vision therapy during her graduate studies. Dr. Bittan is an active member of the Kansas Optometric Association and enjoys volunteering her time in the community. In her free time she enjoys reading, doing puzzles, splits, practicing yoga/balancing, and traveling with her husband.
Gerald McLaughlin, O.D. earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Missouri Kansas City and a Doctor of Optometry Degree at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1990. Dr McLaughlin received the Missouri Optometric Association “Journal Article of the Year” Award in 1990, and worked in an opthalmology-based practice until 2000. Dr. McLaughlin has practiced full-time at Professional Eyecare from 2000 to the present, and has been a member of the American Optometric Association for over 25 years.
Dr. John Michael “Mike” Andersen was born in Superior, Nebraska. He graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1970. Dr. Andersen started Professional Eyecare shortly afterward in August 1972. He is a member of many optometric associations and groups, both locally and nationally. Dr. Andersen is also active in research, design, and fitting of contact lenses with different companies and manufacturers since the beginning of soft contact lenses in 1974.
